Beauty Massage Institute offers a comprehensive 500-clock-hour Massage Therapy Program that combines foundational knowledge with practical training to prepare students to pursue massage therapy licensure in Florida.

Beauty Massage Institute is licensed by the Florida Commission for Independent Education, License No. 8987. The program is approved by the Florida Board of Massage Therapy.

The curriculum covers anatomy and physiology, basic massage theory and history, clinical practicum, allied modalities, hydrotherapy, business practices, Florida laws and rules, professional ethics, HIV/AIDS education, and medical error prevention.

(including the required 10-hour Florida Laws and Rules course), professional ethics,
HIV/AIDS education, and medical error prevention.

Instruction follows the school's approved curriculum and delivery methods. Required in-person
classroom instruction, hands-on training, and clinical practice take place at the school's
approved instructional location in Winter Park, Florida, under the guidance and supervision
of qualified instructors.

Training emphasizes proper technique, client safety, sanitation, professional ethics, and
effective client communication.

Instruction is scheduled for no more than six clock hours per day and 30 clock hours per
week. The program is completed in approximately 4½ months (less than 20 weeks). Actual
completion time depends on the published schedule, student attendance, and academic progress.

To graduate, students must complete all required clock hours, coursework, assessments, and
practical training, and meet the graduation requirements outlined in the current School
Catalog.

Before enrolling, prospective students should review the School Catalog and Enrollment
Agreement for details regarding instructional methods, schedules, tuition and fees,
cancellation and refund policies, and graduation requirements.

• $149.00 per month supply and technology fee — charged only for the months you attend
   (the program typically takes less than 6 months)
• $4,000.00 tuition — financing available over the months you attend
• $470.00 books and supplies, as listed in the School Catalog

Additional costs paid outside the school:

• $265.00 MBLEx examination fee, paid to FSMTB
• Florida massage therapy license application fee, per the Board of Massage Therapy's
   current fee schedule
• Background screening and fingerprinting, fees vary by vendor

1. Graduate — complete all 500 clock hours, coursework, assessments, and practical
     training, and meet the catalog's graduation requirements.
2. Education verification — the school verifies your education directly with FSMTB and
     submits your transcript to the Florida Board of Massage Therapy.
3. Apply for the MBLEx — submit your application to FSMTB (Federation of State Massage
     Therapy Boards), the organization that develops and administers the Massage & Bodywork
     Licensing Examination. After approval you will receive an Authorization to Test and may
     schedule the exam at a Pearson VUE test center.
4. Pass the MBLEx.
5. Complete background screening — fingerprinting through an approved Livescan provider.
6. Apply to the Florida Board of Massage Therapy for your massage therapist license and
     pay the state application fee.
7. Receive your license — a Florida massage therapy license is valid statewide.

Program completion does not automatically confer a license and does not guarantee
examination success or employment. Every applicant must meet all licensing requirements of
the Florida Board of Massage Therapy.

Beauty Massage Institute’s 500-clock-hour Massage Therapy Program combines academic instruction with supervised, in-person practical training to prepare students to pursue massage therapy licensure in Florida.

Selected academic subjects may be delivered online only as permitted by applicable requirements and the school’s approved curriculum. The instructional format and clock-hour allocation for each course are outlined in the current School Catalog.

Required classroom instruction, hands-on skills training, and clinical practicum are completed in person at approved instructional locations under the supervision of qualified instructors. Online coursework does not replace required in-person instruction or clinical practice.

Students must complete all 500 clock hours, required coursework, practical training, and assessments and meet the graduation requirements described in the School Catalog.

Education verification for MBLEx applicants is submitted by the school through FSMTB’s Education Verification Center when the student meets the applicable eligibility requirements. Program completion does not guarantee eligibility approval, examination success, employment, or issuance of a massage therapy license. Applicants must satisfy all applicable examination and state licensing requirements.
